The Lifelong Learning Policies and Strategies programme advocates and advances lifelong learning as the conceptual framework and organizing principle for education reforms in the twenty-first century. It supports Member States in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of lifelong learning policies and strategies.
The Lifelong Learning Policies and Strategies programme advocates and advances lifelong learning as the conceptual framework and organizing principle for education reforms in the twenty-first century. It supports Member States in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of lifelong learning policies and strategies. The programme has three main fields of intervention for Member States:
  • Conducting policy research and analysis
  • Providing technical assistance and capacity-building activities
  • Supporting policy dialogue and networking on national, regional and international levels
The programme focuses on the following areas: Current projects include:
  • The International Directory of Lifelong Learning
  • The Collection of Lifelong Learning Policies and Strategies
  • The UIL Global Observatory of Recognition, Validation and Accreditation of the Outcomes of Non-formal and Informal Learning
  • The Global Inventory of Regional and National Qualifications Frameworks
  • The UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities
