UIL offers internships in various departments (administration, documentation, publications) and in connection with programme activities (see “programme areas” to the left).

Please note that students from the University of Hamburg qualify for the University’s “Certificate Intercultural Competence” (through an internship at UIL).

If you are interested in an internship at UIL, please send us the following (as text files):

• your CV (in English), including information about the state of your current studies, previous education, how they relate to our fields of work (literacy, non-formal education, adult and lifelong learning), your language competencies and experiences abroad; and
• a covering letter stating which UIL department (Publications Unit, Administration, Documentation Centre & Library, Research and Training) and/or specific project you would like to be involved in during your internship, your overall objectives and the exact dates of your availability.
