(Mexico, Lecturer, Universidad de Deusto, Bilbao, Spain)

Mr Robert Jjuuku (left) prepared a comparative study on the financing on adult literacy provisions in three Sub-Saharan African countries: Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. The draft article is currently being revised and will be submitted to an educational journal in late 2014.

Mr. Carlos Vargas Tamez analysed prominent international initiatives, programmes and policies in lifelong learning to prepare a document for the Basque Government identifying avenues for implementation and articulation of lifelong learning policies in the Basque Country. As a follow-up, he plans to publish a scholarly article on the conceptualization of lifelong learning policy making and to write a policy paper on identifying avenues for the design and implementation of a Lifelong Learning Plan in Euskadi. He is also preparing a study that maps and analyses lifelong learning programmes and initiatives in the Basque Country, drawing valuable lessons from international strategies.
