The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) collaborates with a wide range of partners in the field of literacy and basic skills. Within UNESCO, UIL works with UNESCO Headquarters, Regional Bureaux, field offices and other institutes to respond to requests from Member States for capacity development and research. In addition, UIL coordinates for UNESCO the Global Alliance for Literacy within the framework of lifelong learning.

Furthermore, UIL is a member of international networks focusing on literacy and basic skills such as the European Literacy Policy Network (ELINET) and the European Basic Skills Network (EBSN). Numerous youth and adult education providers, researchers and civil society organizations share their expertise and join us in capacity development, research and advocacy. In the field of mobile learning, UIL collaborates with Microsoft Corporation.
