The Editorial Board of the International Review of Education – Journal of Lifelong Learning (IRE) will meet in Hamburg on 1 December 2015 to evaluate the quality and progress of this comparative education and lifelong learning journal. The Board, which is chaired by the Director of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL), Arne Carlsen, comprises twelve members (six men and six women) who are representatives of the global education scholarly and policymaking communities. This year’s meeting has special significance, as 2015 marks sixty years since UNESCO took over IRE. The journal has in fact been in existence since 1931, making it the world’s longest-running international journal of comparative education.
