Under the patronage of UNESCO and in cooperation with the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) and many further partners, the World Committee for Lifelong Learning will host the 6th World Forum for Lifelong Learning from 1 to 2 July 2021 in Brussels, Belgium.
Under the theme ‘Towards Sustainable Personal and Professional Fulfillment in the New Global Context’, the forum will bring together a wide range of representatives from government, civil society, and academia. They will discuss how lifelong learning contributes to tackling global challenges and will deliberate on new solutions to ensure that everyone has access to quality learning opportunities.
As an introduction to the conference theme, UIL Director David Atchoarena will present the report Embracing a culture of lifelong learning on 1 July 2021. UIL team leader Raúl Valdes-Cotera will speak about UNESCO learning cities’ responses to COVID-19. Marie Macauley, UIL programme specialist, will present the Institute’s work on recognition, validation and accreditation of non-formal and informal learning.
