With only five months to go before the Mid-Term Review of the Sixth International Conference on Adult Learning and Education (CONTINTEA VI) in Suwon, Republic of Korea, the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) will convene a consultative group to help identify the key objectives of this important event.
The consultative group will review the major themes of the Mid-Term Review, including progress in implementing the 2009 Belém Framework for Action and UNESCO Recommendation for Adult Learning and Education (2015), as well the way forward towards the Education 2030: Framework for Action.
The group will focus, in particular, on the finalization of a series of progress reports on adult learning and education (ALE) in each of the five UNESCO regions. It will also discuss the content of and priorities for the Mid-Term Review outcome document, which participating UNESCO Member States will be invited to discuss and endorse in order to reinforce their commitment to ALE.
The Mid-Term Review Consultative Group includes seven distinguished ALE scholars who have recently been named UIL honorary fellows, as well as the authors of the above-mentioned regional progress reports.
