  • Where: Online Event (Ireland)

On 3 and 4 December 2020, members of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC) will meet virtually to share best practices, insights, progress and challenges with regards to learning for well-being. The event has been organized by the cities of Cork (Ireland) and Osan (Republic of Korea), as acting GNLC cluster coordinators, with the support of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL). It will bring together member cities of the UNESCO GNLC Cluster on Health and Well-being and is open to other cities and stakeholders.

The webinar will discuss how learning cities can stregnthen resilience among urban populations as the COVID-19 pandemic persists into the winter and many regions are experiencing a second wave of infections.

Alongside the cross-cutting theme of inclusion the event will focus on the themes of learning for mental and physical health, well-being through creativity, and well-being and nature. It will showcase cluster members’ good practices with regard to learning for health and well-being; discuss the accompanying challenges and opportunities; determine the research priorities to be adopted and actions to be taken in the lead-up to the fifth International Conference on Learning Cities in 2021; and promote the topic of learning for health and well-being in cities within and beyond the UNESCO GNLC network.
