Governing Board sets path for UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning in 2020

On 26 and 27 November, the Governing Board of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning met in Hamburg, Germany, to review the Institute’s work over the past year and adopt its work plan and budget for 2020.

Members of the Board expressed high satisfaction with the work of the Institute and provided guidance for the implementation of future activities in the areas of lifelong learning policies, adult learning and education, and literacy.

The Board, currently chaired by Ms Malak Zaalouk, professor of practice and founding director of the Middle East Institute for Higher Education and the Graduate School of Education of the American University in Cairo, consists of 12 members, drawn from every world region, who are nominated intuitu personae by the Director-General of UNESCO.
