A key advocacy issue for UIL is building holistic and integrated education systems in Africa. UNESCO is working with the education sector in African countries to plan responses that expand learning opportunities for children, youth and adults, and connect all means of learning – formal, non-formal and informal. UIL believes that a lifelong learning perspective helps to promote a holistic education system. UIL supports the introduction of recognition mechanisms which can create dynamic links and pathways between levels and forms of learning to enable people to continue learning.
