
On 19 May at 18.00 Professor Klaus Hüfner, Steering Committee member of the German Society for the United Nations and former Chairperson of the German Commission for UNESCO, will give a lecture at UIL on “UNESCO und Menschenrechte” (UNESCO and Human Rights), in German. Professor Hüfner was a member of several UNESCO committees on human rights, such as the Advisory Committee on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Democracy, and the UNESCO Executive Board’s Temporary Working Group on Human Rights Education. He was a member of the German Foreign Office Advisory Board for the United Nations and a member of the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) Governing Board. He has authored numerous publications about the United Nations and UNESCO, including the book UNESCO und Menschenrechte (UNESCO and Human Rights), published in 2008.
