
dvv International becomes partner in the International Platform for Learning Cities (IPLC)

As the international branch of the German Adult Education Association, dvv International focuses on development through adult and youth education. It is active on a global scale, with more than 200 partners in over 30 countries. On 9 August 2013, UIL welcomed the new Director of dvv International, Mr Anton Markmiller and the Deputy Director, Mr Uwe Gartenschlaeger, to highlight their long-standing partnership. UIL Director, Mr Arne Carlsen, and Senior Programme Specialist Mr Jin Yang met Mr Markmiller and Mr Gartenschlaeger to discuss ongoing collaborations between the two institutes.
dvv International will be a partner of the International Platform for Learning Cities (IPLC) by nominating a member to the Expert Group and mobilising cities to participate in the IPLC and the International Conference on Learning Cities (Beijing, 21-23 October 2013). dvv International and UIL will also collaborate to assess the role of lifelong learning in the post-2015 sustainable development agenda, launch the 2nd Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE) and organise a high level think-tank meeting on lifelong learning.
