
On June 19–21, 2013, the UNESCO Bangkok Office (Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education), in cooperation with the Government of Thailand, organized a with the theme of “National Qualifications Frameworks for Lifelong Learning and Skills Development”.
Attended by more than 500 regional experts, policymakers, educationalists, ministry officials, researchers, civil society representatives and other stakeholders from 25 countries, the conference provided a space for countries to share their experiences on National Qualifications Frameworks, and to examine the role of community learning centers in providing opportunities for skills development.
The Deputy Director of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, Carolyn Medel-Anonuevo, delivered a presentation on the UNESCO Guidelines for the Recognition, Validation and Accreditation of the Outcomes of Non-formal and Informal Learning.
