The fourth UNESCO Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE 4) will be published in 2019. A record 160 UNESCO Member States provided their insights on developments in adult learning and education.

Participants from nine Member States[*] took part in UNESCO’s first e-learning course on mainstreaming adult learning and non-formal education into education sector plans from 2 October to 27 November.

The December 2018 issue of the International Review of Education – Journal of Lifelong Learning (IRE) looks at narrative approaches to researching literacy and non-formal education in Africa and Asia.

Peter Jarvis, leading adult educator and pioneer of adult education scholarship, has passed away.
