UIL promotes increased political and financial commitment to youth and adult education to support the process of developing and implementing holistic, diversified, cross-sectoral and integrated policies and strategies which embed literacy as a foundation for lifelong learning in Africa.

UIL is supporting initiatives in the region to implement the African Statement on the Power of Youth and Adult Learning and Education for Africa’s Development and the Belém Framework for Action by cooperating with regional institutions and networks such as ADEA, CREAA, dvv international and the African Platform for Adult Education
