Skills recognition in the informal sector and in the context of workplace learning

19 May 2012

Given the vast amount of non-formal and informal learning taking place in the informal economy, UIL is promoting peer learning activities with a thematic focus on  skills recognition and certification that can help the workers in the informal sector  to learn further and acquire qualifications, and to enhance their  mobility. The lack of formal qualifications makes workers vulnerable in securing decent employment.  This thematic focus is a part of the broader emphasis on promoting TVET in the informal sector from a lifelong learning perspective.
